“Culture eats strategy for breakfast.” [Peter Drucker – Author]

Whether you know it or not, your business has a culture. The important bit to know is where it sits on the ‘culture meter’ – is it awesome, toxic, or somewhere in between?

an awesome culture has many benefits to your business, including:

  • Increased levels of engagement from your team members;
  • A collaborative, energetic and pro-active workplace;
  • Improved employee retention; and
  • Attracting high calibre employees;

And the big positive of all of the above? An awesome business culture almost always leads to improved financial performance. Why? If you take care of your team, they will take care of your customers and your business.

But an awesome culture doesn’t just create itself. An amazing culture needs to be fostered by amazing leadership and it also needs to engage and be embraced by every single member of the team. The overall success of your business hinges on the attitude, passion and positive mindset of your team. There is simply no room for the ‘I don’t know, I just work here’ mentality.

so how do you begin to create a strong culture within your work place?

A strong work place culture requires a work environment that everyone is happy to be a part of every day. A place where the team ‘wants’ to come to work. If the work environment is relaxed, fun and engaging, only then will you be able to get the best out of your team.

A strong work place culture also needs an environment where the team can collaborate with each other, are challenged to work hard and be the best they can be.

If you get your culture right, all of a sudden you have happy team members who take pride in their work and strive to be the best they can be. This leads to awesome customer service.

Tip: If your work place culture is weak, then so is your business. If the culture is strong, then everything else just got a little bit easier.
