businessDEPOT Sydney is a growing, tech-forward practice looking for an experienced Practice Manager to lead our operations, keep our compliance on track, and deliver a consistent, high-quality client experience.

 

operations

  • Own and manage the weekly rhythm of our office and production schedule across compliance work, maintaining clear workflow visibility across all jobs.
  • Oversee the lodgement program and compliance calendar [BAS/IAS, tax returns, ASIC annual reviews, key ATO/ASIC deadlines], ensuring jobs are planned, progressed and lodged on time.
  • Implement and refine systems, templates, checklists, and procedures to improve efficiency and quality.
  • Support leadership with operational reporting: workflow, capacity, turnaround times, and productivity.

 

onboarding, client experience + team

  • Lead the end-to-end onboarding process so new clients have a structured, high-quality experience.
  • Ensure engagements, documentation, and internal setup steps are completed accurately and promptly.
  • Maintain high-quality electronic file management and client record integrity.
  • Build strong internal relationships and reinforce a professional, calm, solutions-focused culture.

 

projects + continuous improvement

  • Lead internal operational projects [systems upgrades, process improvements, reporting, training resources].
  • Identify inefficiencies and implement changes that meaningfully reduce rework and improve turnaround time.
  • Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement

 

about you

  • Proven experience in a Practice Manager / Operations Manager / Client Services Manager role in an accounting or similar professional services environment [legal, financial services, engineering].
  • Strong workflow and deadline management capability [production scheduling, lodgements, team coordination].
  • High attention to detail and a demonstrated ability to build and maintain systems.
  • Confident communicator able to manage internal priorities and client-facing coordination professionally.
  • Exposure to common accounting practice software and workflows [Xero/XPM, Karbon, FYI Docs, Ignition, CAS360, Employment Hero] highly regarded.
  • Available to commit to 30-38 hours per week
