In 2004, Melissa joined the family transport company – Taylor’s Removals and Storage. Melissa is the fourth generation of the company and in 2012 she became the first female to hold the position of Managing Director of the Group.
Melissa joined Taylor’s Removals in 2004 with the purpose of developing Taylor’s Records Management division – INFOstor by Taylors. In 2006, through Melissa’s work at INFOstor by Taylors, she was awarded the Australian Institute of Management’s Inaugural Award for Business Innovation at the Excellence Awards.
In 2015, Taylor’s Removals & Storage was inducted into the Toowoomba Chamber of Commerce Hall of Fame. In 2016, she was awarded by ATA (Australian Trucking Association) the National Finalist Trucking Woman of the Year. The National Awards will be held in June 2016.
