Tamara Loehr

FivePointFour

Tamara started a marketing agency, Mitara Empresa, almost two decades ago, where she worked with national and international listed companies, as well as SMEs to grow their businesses and, in some cases, ready them for mergers and acquisitions. The agency grew to be among the top 2% of Australian agencies.

Tamara took on her first sweat equity project in 2014 – healthy home-delivered meal company FivePointFour. The company experienced a 780% growth within the first 12 months of Tamara coming on board. Tamara has since begun her second sweat-equity project with vegan haircare range, Hot Tresses.

THE PRESENTATION: "How sweat equity helped reach 780% growth in the first 12 months"

At DEPOTnext, hear the story of how Tamara helped take a business from under half a million turnover to over $10M in 2 years and the importance of sweat equity to help make it happen.

Susannah George

The Urban List

Susannah George is a digital marketer, entrepreneur and CEO of The Urban List – Australia and New Zealand’s #1 local lifestyle guide.

Launched in 2011, the site now attracts more than 2.5 million visitors each month; connecting readers across seven cities with top tier restaurants and retailers, and attracting a client portfolio of the world’s most sought after brands.

Susannah was named Woman of The Year in the Women In Media Awards (2015) and won the Digital category for two consecutive years (2015, 2016). In 2013, she was a finalist in the Lord Mayor’s Business Awards – for Digital Strategy and Young Business Person of the Year. Alongside her love for food, design, travel and family, Susannah is an active member of Entrepreneurs’ Organisation, an independent board member of Racing Queensland and ambassador for The Hunger Project’s Unleashed Women initiative.

THE PRESENTATION: "From Loyalty to Liquidity: The Urban List Journey"

From humble beginnings – a single desk in inner city Brisbane – The Urban List has emerged as one of Australia and New Zealand’s fastest-growing, most influential lifestyle destinations.

The first venture of founder and CEO, Susannah George, the journey has been fast and furious; pitted with classic rookie errors, watershed wins and an increasing appreciation for the power of an all-star team.

While the brand is hailed as something of a “social and cultural North star”, converting this loyalty to liquidity has been an ongoing challenge – a delicate and daily balancing act of commerce and creativity: one that only an entrepreneur will ever truly understand!

Share in the story as Susannah reflects on the greatest lessons learnt, comes clean about the decisions that drove the company off course, and hypothesises about the next big thing in digital.
